The Fair Grove High School Boys Basketball season is right around the corner. The team has practiced and prepared for the annual Clever Boys Invitational tournament on December 1st, 2025.
The basketball team has been looking forward to their regular season games. The boys’ varsity coach, Bryan Tucker stated, “I am looking forward to the season. It’s exciting to start a new season with all new faces and see them compete and grow as a team.”
Grant Fuller (12), added, “I am greatly looking forward to this next season. I have been preparing by shooting in the mornings with the team and just getting mentally prepared for the season.”
With players graduating it can be difficult to determine who will fill those previous senior shoes. Tucker stated, “We graduated all of our starters from last year, so our playing time is up in the air and will be determined at practice. I am looking forward to watching our guys complete those minutes.”
Grey Pritchett (9), a player on the team, added, “The biggest challenge for me is trying to live up to the hype of the other classes.”
Over the course of practice, the team has built many lifelong friendships. Gavin Strong (10), explained, “I am mainly looking forward to hanging out with my teammates.” Strong continued, “My older teammates have helped me adjust by walking me through the plays and teaching me what to do. They push me and make me better while also helping me.”
Pritchett added that he is looking forward to traveling with his teammates and being able to be around them.
Easton Highfill (10), another member of the team, went on to say, “They have served as role models and mentors, they’ve taught me to be more confident in myself. They have taught me that when the games get going fast, just breathe and control what you can. They’ve taught me to block out what others say on the outside and focus on myself.”
The first regular-season game is December 12th against Marshfield at home. The Eagles are ready to prove what they’ve been working toward. Tucker stated, “I have high expectations for this season. I just want to see us get better as the season progresses.”
