Camden Smoot is in fourth grade at Fair Grove Elementary School and is involved in school activities as well as keeping himself involved at home.
Smoot is in Kelly Elgin’s class in Fair Grove’s Elementary. He plays basketball, baseball and football for school affiliated teams.
According to Elgin, Smoot is a kind and helpful student. Elgin mentioned, “Camden is incredibly charismatic—he’s one of those kids people are naturally drawn to.”
One of Elgin’s favorite things about Smoot is how sweet he is to his sister. “One morning at breakfast, she realized she forgot her snack, so Cam pulled his own snack out of his backpack and gave it to her without hesitation—even though it meant he went without.”
Three words Elgin would use to describe Smoot would be funny, kind, and positive. “Cam doesn’t meet a stranger, and I absolutely love having him in class. He brings joy to our class every single day!”
Camden is the son of Chris Smoot, who substitute teaches for Fair Grove on occasion. “I think Camden’s best trait overall is he has a huge heart and cares for others above himself.” Chris added, “I think he goes out of his way to be kind and be a good friend to everyone he comes in contact with.”
According to Chris, Camden loves being an athlete, and is a very adventurous kid. “He can be found most of the time outside riding his dirt bike, or mountain bike, or playing and exploring.” He continued, “He likes trying to build things and tinker, whether it’s a ramp for his bike, or building some kind of fort to play in,”
Chris’ favorite moment of Camden was watching him score his first touchdown. He said, “Finally, the moment came one game and he caught a pass and ran for like a 60 yard touchdown. I was so proud of him and was yelling in excitement at the top of my lungs like an idiot in the stands.”
Camden plays sports for the school, but he also has his own hobbies at home. Chris stated, “He also likes hunting and fishing as well as riding his dirt bike any chance he gets. He’s a pretty adventurous kid and can always be found outside doing something.”
Camden is a very involved student who loves sports and helping others. Chris mentioned, “I’m really proud of the kind of kid he is and how he treats others.”
