The seniors at Fair Grove High School spent their last night together at the Project Grad celebration after their graduation ceremony on May 16th.

Before the night of their graduation they prepare on how everything is going to run. Liam Draper (12) stated, “The day of graduation we are spending the whole day practicing how we will enter and exit and where we sit.”

Stephanie Dunham (12) stated, “I prepared for graduation by getting a very good amount of sleep and mostly just by spending quality time with those I would not be seeing as much post graduation.”

Moving up from elementary school, to middle school, then finally graduating high school, comes with different emotions. Dunham stated, “I feel very at peace with graduation. I feel as though I have made enough memories.”

Dunham then went on to say, “I have been heavily involved for the past four years and needless to say, I am very happy with moving on and don’t feel like I missed out on anything in high school.”

Draper then stated how he feels about graduation, “I think that I, like a lot of other people, are very excited to be graduating and moving onto the next chapter of my life.”
With the many emotions the graduates feel along with their families, there are also things to look forward to moving onto in this new chapter of their lives.

Hannah Bruner (12) stated, “Post graduation I am looking forward to attending MSU (Missouri State University) in the fall, and further my education.”

Dunham stated, “Post graduation I am looking forward to having the time to work much more in order to save up money for college next fall.”

Draper then stated what he was  looking forward to, “The thing I am looking forward to the most after graduation is being able to take a step back from all the end of the year work I had. Just be able to enjoy the summer and get ready for college.”

Looking  forward to what is to come after graduation Bruner stated, “My plans post graduation are to continue my education at MSU to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing, specializing in pediatric care.”

Draper says, “My immediate plans for after graduation is to drive that night after project grad and run the state track meet. Then go on a summer road trip with some friends.”

Graduation was held on May 16th at High Street Church in Springfield, Missouri. Most students had a bitter sweet night. Hannah Brunner, Reagan Johnson, and Jim Rich were the speakers for the 2023-2024 class.
