As Fair Grove High School winter sports are coming to an end, senior nights and ceremonies have been held for the senior athletes.
The girls and boys wrestling senior nights took place on February 10, 2026. The seniors this year were Zoey Drake, Eden Lair, Taylor Wisely, and there were no senior boys for wrestling.
Drake stated, “I feel like wrestling senior night went well. There were four of us that got to walk on the mat.” She continued, “Some advice that I would give to the underclassmen would be to try something new even if it is out of your comfort zone.”
The boys basketball senior night took place on February 2, 2026. Grant Fuller was the only senior this year. Head basketball coach, Bryan Tucker, stated “Grant has had to wait to play varsity until this year and he has been a tremendous leader for our younger group and kept our team motivated throughout the season. Adjusting to the varsity level is not easy and Grant has handled it very well.”
If Tucker could leave anything with Fuller as he goes on to play college ball and the years after, he would tell him to give his best effort. Tucker stated, “Giving your best effort, no matter the result, is something you can live with. Accept responsibility and always remember anytime you point the finger at someone else there are 3 pointing right back at you. Give your very best. Do not worry about the results and be all in!”
Finally, the girl’s basketball team had their senior night on February 12, 2026 The seniors this year were Rebecca Kepes, Quincy Williams, and Hannah Schwab.
Playing high school ball is not always about winning but it’s about the memories and the friendship that comes with it. Schwab stated, “My favorite memory was when Faubion passed around the clipboard at half time and asked if any of us would want to try throwing it.”
Kepes stated, “Advice I would give to underclassmen would be to not let other people dictate how you feel. Be grounded in the Holy Spirit and trust that the Lord’s ways are better for your life. Make sure to continue to work hard throughout high school, because it will be so rewarding in the future.”
