Since the age of four, Austin Azeez, a Fair Grove High School Student, has participated in a series of different car racing events throughout the years, eventually allowing him to take part in the Legend Series Car Racing.
Azeez is involved in many things at Fair Grove including being a member of the football team, First Priority, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA), and Future Farmers of America (FFA).
Azeez was always interested in car racing. He explained, “My parents got me into racing, and we always watched racing when I was a kid. Then we started racing go-karts.”
Azeez would race in go-karts from the age of nine to 13, afterwards he would start to race in the Legend Series Cars. Legend Series Racing is done with Legend Series Cars which are ⅝ scale replicas of National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) modified cars.
Legend Series Racing is a form of racing that was originally made to keep racing affordable. They were made to be sold at around the same price of a bass boat, and the first Legend Series Car was manufactured in 1992.
Azeez races under the series Inexpensive Racing (INEX), with each race sanctioned by the INEX Racing Series. This is the third largest racing sanctioning in the world.
The racing series is split into multiple divisions, based on the racers age, with Azeez racing in the young lions division. Next year he will race in the semi-pro division.
The Azeez family are all into racing. Dillon Azeez (9), Azeez’s younger brother explained, “All of my family love watching and going to races.” The family owns two go-karts and a 34 Ford Sedan body style legend series car.
Azeez does races at multiple race tracks in the Southwest Missouri area, participating in races at the Springfield Raceway, the Monnett Motor Speedway, and the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri.
Throughout his INEX career Azeez has won multiple awards. He stated, “I am the 2021 Twister alley raceway Jr2 Champion and the 2025 INEX Missouri Young Lions Dirt Champion.”
Azeez is excited to keep racing. He stated, “I enjoy racing because it is the hardest sport in the world. Everything has to go right to win a race. Including a little luck.”
