Brylee Mallard is a junior at Fair Grove High School who involves herself in many different extracurricular activities and shows great leadership in the Fair Grove community.
Brylee is involved in multiple activities at Fair Grove including, DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America), SADD (Student’s Against Destructive Decisions), STUCO (Student Council), NHS (National Honor Society), and FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), Wrestling, and Softball.
Brylee loves the activities she’s involved in. She explained, “My favorite part about wrestling is the ability to do something and push myself to do what I thought my body wasn’t capable of doing.” Brylee continued, “FBLA and DECA gives me a chance to help plan a future career along with meeting new people from all over.”
Cayse Overstreet, the Fair Grove FBLA and DECA sponsor, explained why she chose Brylee for a leadership position, “Brylee was chosen to be in the leadership roles because she has heart and grit of what it means to be a true leader. She is the first to show up and the last to leave. She volunteers for the stuff that no one wants to do because she truly cares about the success of anything she is a part of.”
Brylee explained her jobs while running the school store, “Flight Gear I keep schedules of who works both in school and outside of school at sports games. I also evaluate individuals and teams to help the manager (Mrs. Overstreet) accurately grade.”
Mathys Mallard (10), Brylee’s younger brother, expressed why he believes his sister is in the leadership position that she’s in, “She works really hard at the stuff she does and is really committed to the stuff she does. She has impacted me in so many ways. She has shown me what it’s like to live out your faith and she has helped my relationships with God grow so much.”
Overstreet described her favorite memories with Brylee, “Brylee sneaks in my room every other morning before school usually to talk about FBLA/DECA or school store related (before I have had my coffee!)”
Overstreet continued, “My favorite memory is watching her and Aislynn Starks plan the large-scale Cooper’s Christmas Celebration event to raise money for one of our own! It was one of the neatest events I have ever been a part of at Fair Grove. I was so proud of her and all the tears and sweat she poured into it.”
Brylee shows hard work and dedication at Fair Grove everyday. Overstreet explained, “She’s the ‘do all’ student. She is amazing! I can’t say enough about her.”
