Fair Grove may not have many food options anymore, but the places that are still in business are good. My new year’s resolution was to try as many new things as possible, and this month I decided to try more food in Fair Grove.
Many complain about the fact that Fair Grove does not have enough food options. Others seem to disagree. I will be honest, Fair Grove is short on restaurants, but every so often food trucks from all over visit the small town of Fair Grove and bring amazing food. Brady Phillips (10) explained that it is hard to find good food in Fair Grove, but the amount of food trucks has helped. Phillips stated, “I think it would be very cool if we had a food truck culture here in Fair Grove!”
My personal favorite, and the one I look forward to most is Lae’s. The owners are always very kind, and make great egg rolls. If you are wondering what to order you can not go wrong with the chinese pork bbq skewers. They are delicious, and pair nicely with the peach tea. If you are looking for a vegetarian option they offer veggie spring rolls, but they have a limited amount so you better order them quickly.
Another great option is Smoke Shack BBQ. A classic pulled pork sandwich is always a good option, but if you are up for it they offer what they call a “sundae”. It is not your average ice cream, hot fudge, with a cherry on top. This sundae comes with your choice of meat, beans, coleslaw, and bbq sauce on top.
Optimum Vibes has become a popular spot to get a healthy snack throughout the day. Getting Optimum Vibes protein waffles will give you a great start to your day! They offer shakes, protein balls, coffee, and energy teas. The cinnamon roll shake is very tasty, and my go-to order. The staff is very kind and always very welcoming.
If some of your favorite food trucks aren’t in town, Fair Grove also offers places like Golden Monkey, Kad-E-Korner, and Subway. My go-to order at Golden Monkey is the Cashew Chicken and a Dr. Pepper. The staff is very friendly and always makes my experience there more enjoyable! At Kad-E-Korner I get the pulled pork mac and cheese. Finally Subway is a great pick if you are looking for a comfortable option. Most enjoy and recognize Subway since it is a fast food, and you can never go wrong choosing to eat there.
Not only does Fair Grove offer some great food, they also offer dessert. One of my favorite places to go on a hot, sunny day is Snowie Addiction. Their snow cones are my favorite cold sweet treat. They offer many original flavor combinations, some of my favorites include; Spiderman, Razz-a-Matazz, Bahama Mama, and Frog in a Blender. You also can add toppings like coconut cream, sweet cream, or sour spray.
Another popular sweet treat option is Megan’s Bake Shop. It is a cute bakery that serves cakes, cupcakes, cookies, muffins, and occasionally ice cream!
Fair Grove has many more great options for food. From food trucks, to sit down restaurants, to dessert shops. I challenge you to try one of these amazing places this month (or another one of the options we may write about in the future), and support our small businesses!
