Jayden Kensinger, a Fair Grove graduate, has been hired as a history teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. He will be teaching Government and Advanced American History.
The position that Kensinger will be taking is history teacher Brendan Carroll’s. He has decided to retire after the 2025-2026 school year.
Carroll emphasized his love for Fair Grove upon his retirement. He said, “Fair Grove has been a great community to work in – good people that care about each other.” Carroll is now passing the torch to a former student in Kensinger.
Kensinger played football and golf for all four years of high school, and graduated in 2018. He also played a few years of basketball and baseball. After high school, he studied at Missouri State University (MSU) for an undergraduate degree in History Education. He then went on to study at Northwest Missouri State for a Master’s in Educational Leadership.
Kensinger explained why he wanted to come back to Fair Grove, “Fair Grove is a special place with a great school and community culture. It’s a great opportunity for me professionally and was an easy decision for me to make to come back home.”
Kensinger explained the classes that he is going to teach next year, “The plan right now is to teach Government and then some sort of advanced history class, most likely Advanced American History.”
Kensinger will also coach next year, primarily as the defensive coordinator for the football team. He will also be coaching another sport that will be determined this spring.
Kensinger recalled the memory of getting the call that he was hired, “As soon as Coach Voorhis called me about the job I immediately jumped at the opportunity and did everything I could to prepare myself for the interview process. Then, as soon as Mr. Roepke offered me the job; I accepted it immediately. It was an easy decision.”
