Fair Grove has five spring sports including baseball, softball, golf, girls soccer, and track and field. All five spring sports have started their pre-season activities.
Aubrie Voorhis (11) stated, “I think this season is going to be amazing! We have so many returners and freshmen that will lead to great team chemistry. We graduated our starting catcher and shortstop, as well as an outfielder.”
Track and Field runners, throwers, and jumpers have started practicing their technique. Softball started their practices January 13, 2026. Baseball has been working since before winter break. They practice every day after school, working on catching and throwing techniques.
Kenadie Ferguson (10) said, “My expectations for this year are for our team to do really good this year . . . We won 2-3 games and I would like us to beat that record.”
Students are excited for the spring season to start. Many students have the goal to improve their performances from past seasons. Carson Trussell (12) expressed his excitement about the new season and the new team that track has. Trey George (10) invites all to come out and run and says that it’s not too late.
Macklen Johnson said, “My expectations for this season is to have a good postseason run like we did last year. We don’t have as many seniors, so the 3 of us that we have this year to step up and be leaders. Take it one day at a time, and the good Lord willing, things will work out.
Hali Stokes (12) said, “My expectations for this season are strong chemistry led by us seniors to create a longer lasting bond for years to come after us. I want success this year but I want it more for the following years to come. I know we will face some issues through this year but my hope is our bond and drive will lead us to a championship that isn’t measured in accolades this year.”
Baseball’s first game is March 20, 2026, at Elkins, Arkansas. Softball’s first game is March 23, 2026, at home against Stockton with Fair Play. Track and Field’s first meet is March 27, 2026, at Marshfield. Girls Soccer’s first game is March 20, 2026, at home against Stover with Cole Camp.
