As the 2023 – 2024 school year begins, the Fair Grove High School Volleyball team starts off their season with a 6 – 0 record, continuing their pursuit of a championship.

The volleyball team, led by head coach Tonya Peck, has been preparing since the summer for this season. Allison Findley (12) expressed, “I am excited about all the titles that we are going to win, and I can say that confidently because our team has the heart, desire, and discipline that you need to be conference, district, and even State Champions.” Brooke Daniels (11) confirmed, “I have super high expectations for this year’s team.”

Findley has been playing volleyball for years and when she was asked why she is on the team, she responded, “I watched my older sister Alana play all her years of high school volleyball, and I just knew that I wanted to be a part of that same kind of culture and I just grew to love the sport. Also, if it wasn’t for volleyball, I wouldn’t have a lot of the friends that I do.”

“The energy of the team is unmatched, they have an insane drive to win,” mentioned Daniels. Findley furthermore explained, “Our energy comes from our ability to communicate, which starts up our movement, and then connections start happening and then we’re scoring points. We mesh really well together and that connection sparks energy. We are definitely a loud team and we love to hype each other up.”

Emaley Stallings (11) commented, “I feel like coach Peck is a big motivator to our team and always helps us get better and pushes us to be better teammates and people in general.”

Findley and Daniels were disappointed with the end of last year’s end, Findley said, “After losing to Strafford in the game that would have sent us to the final four. I had a fire under me to be in the same situation the next year, but win. Seeing how close we were and remembering the feeling of losing that final four appearance, motivated not only me but the team to work extremely hard on our skill sets to be in the final four this year.”

According to Stallings, the volleyball team can’t wait to show the city of Fair Grove what they have been working on.
