The Kids Being Kind Club is a club that focuses on spreading kindness within the Fair Grove school as well as the Fair Grove community.

The Kids Being Kind Club was founded five years ago and is now run by Kristie Lepold, the middle school counselor. Lepold said, “I started Kids Being Kind Club because I feel it is important for students to understand the significance of being kind to make the world a better place and show others that they matter.”

The Kids Being Kind Club focuses on spreading kindness within the school. Kinsey Hollingsworth (5) is a member of the Kids Being Kind Club. According to Hollingsworth, she joined the Kids Being Kind Club because she loves to be kind to other people.

The Kids Being Kind Club does many things to help out the community. Lepold said, “We hold fundraisers to donate to charities or families in need. We host holiday events, Random Acts of Kindness events, and Red Ribbon Week. We learn about kindness and the impact (sometimes even life-saving) it can make in the lives of others as well as the self-fulfillment felt when we serve others.”

According to Lepold, students in the Kids Being Kind Club are held to a high standard. They are like the junior student council. To stay in the club students cannot have any discipline issues as well as they must always think about how they treat other students.

The students in the Kids Being Kind Club focus on helping out the school. Hollingsworth stated that the main purpose of the Kids Being Kind Club is to help the students and the school out.

Lepold said, “… Kids Being Kind Club has also donated to multiple charities for the betterment of children. Additionally, we have provided funding for student and staff events to improve morale and make our school a fun and welcoming place to be.”

Multiple students join the Kids Being Kind Club when they first go into middle school. Kinsey Hollingsworth joined the club her first year in middle school.

The Kids Being Kind Club has different things that they want to do in the future. Kristie Lepold said, “I hope to get our students out into the community more, such as The Ronald McDonald  House, serving the less fortunate for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and trips to the nursing home to deliver flowers.” The club will continue to show their kindness and appreciation to the Fair Grove community.
